The Philadelphia zoo opened in July of 1874.
On Thursday 4/14/11 I went with my daughter and her kindergarten class to the Zoo! It was a nice time, I remember going to the zoo when I was in kindergarten it was so nice to be able to share this with my daughter.

Susan...we learned that this was the 1st Zoo when we studied PA. We want to go! We are only about 3 hours North from there. Would you say it's worth the trip? We go often to the Bronx Zoo.
